When I teach someone new to programming how to code, I absolutely love how Delphi and Lazarus allow you to build UI's easily, but then I always try and explain to them how to do everything that can be done in the form designer in code also. That doesn't always go well, which strengthens the need for nice UI designers. On top of that, since the form elements and Pascal code are so tightly intertwined between the .PAS and .DFM files, the noobs don't have to know too much about file structures and unit dependencies just to get going.
