i actually got one of these 4x4 calendar cubes for christmas, it has a red date and blue month (the one made by calvin's puzzle)
turning isn't great but it's viable, but more importantly, i found a way to sticker swap the years using an extra set of stickers to be able to go back to 1 JAN 1970.

i did have to sacrifice the day of the week stickers, but i personally didn't mind as i like the 4 digit year on it's own better, and the day of the week is relative to the year, anyway. (i changed the 5 and 6 centers into 9s in the needed orientations and put a 1 on the edge where the "day" sticker used to be)

my calendar cube now goes up to 31 DEC 2049. that's still over 26 years away, so i'll be just fine. the layout does still work for everything else.

The V cube 3x3 is actually a decant 3x3 to just have as a cool cube in your collection. It also solves perfectly fine, and if you loosen it up a bit you can sort of speedsolve with it, so it's a great choice for picture cubes
