If you're part of a homeowners association (HOA) in South Florida, brace yourself for some likely fee hikes. The deal is, new condo laws are rolling in and causing a ripple effect on HOA fees.

To sum it up, a few things are cooking up the perfect storm for increased HOA fees in South Florida in 2024. South Florida, especially Miami-Dade and Broward, have been 'boom & bust' markets for as long as I can remember. When RE is hot, the area rockets up, when things cool, it experiences some wild drops. Unless there can be reforms made in the insurance space, I think there will be long-term problems and HOAs could be in a real predicament.
