5 Worst Maple Leafs Trades Since 1990
Toronto Maple Leafs have made many trades in the last few decades, some have worked out and some have not. This video focuses on how their trading of NHL Draft Picks caused other Teams to land star players.
We discuss the Phil Kessel trade, Tuuka Rask Trade and others. There have been many Toronto Maple Leafs trade rumours talking about deals they were linked to especially Brian Burke telling stories but he made some terrible trades while GM of the Leafs.

How about Russ Courtnall to the habs for John Kordik. That was a thing of beauty. Alot earlier but how did that workout.

Rask was traded after he was drafted. The pick that became Gibson was traded to anaheim

Scott Niedermayer and Tuukka Rask that stung. Boston used those picks well for Phil Kessel.

However as a Calgary Flames fan I felt we got fleeced when trading Doug Gilmour and Dion Phaneuf.

Seems as these are more draft mistakes rather than bad trades.

Here’s one . NY Islanders trades Wendal Clark & Matthew Schneider to the leafs for Darby Heindrickson & Kenny Jonson with a 1st round pick 97 which was Roberto Luongo

The best trade the Leafs ever made was when they acquired Rick Vaive and Bill Derlago from the Canucks for Dave Williams and Jerry Butler.

Something about Toronto's 2011 draft. The bad news, Toronto selected Tyler Biggs
The good news, the 30th overall pick, which was ORIGINALLY TORONTO BUT TRADED TO Boston, was then traded to the Anaheim Ducks. If Boston didn't trade that pick, Boston would have Rikard Rakell.

I feel that if the Leafs kept the 1991 pick, they would've just tried to tank for Eric Lindros.

Great video---Wow--seems the Leafs have been shooting themselves in the foot for awhile now--certainly explains why they haven't won a Cup since 1967.

The Bruins should get one of these for Thornton, Seguin, Hamilton, Kessel and I'm sure you can name another one pretty easily

The way i see it is that it isnt the trades that have hurt them so much as the signings. Leaf fans always think their players are worth way more than what they are.

Trading up/down in the draft is not a bad trade. They still likely take the same players

Maybe the leafs would have traded up to take Pat Falloon. It is the leafs we are talking about.
