Bo is a good player having a bad year. Would still extend him. Who are they going to get better?

Frick, and Frack have sure got themselves in another Pickle? You've got another Josh on their hands. Thanks for sharing.

I would like you to share how the players we traded at the deadline are doing, that would be interesting to see and know about.

the time off will allow Bo to get even fatter. Cant wait to see him roll onto the field next season.

In an ideal world, the Jays should lock Bo and Vladdy up longterm. Give them long, big money deals and build the team around them for the future, using the young talent they brought in at the deadline, particularly guys like Wagner and Loperfido, plus their homegrown guys Clement and Horwitz. Barger too. They've got an intriguing young foundation to work with.

And I still think priority number 1 for the Jays should should be get Vladdy's extension done yesterday. You've got a blueprint for it with what the Red Sox gave Devers, but for me, now Bo is a question mark. Not because of ability though. Yeah he had a bad year, but George Brett had bad years. Bad years happen. Ability wise, Bo is still one of the best short stops in the league at his best. Vladdy was in a slump and he pulled through, Bo's been in a slump and he can pull through too. But Bo's injuries worry me.

He's had them nagging on and off this year, then he just comes back from a lengthy IL stay and boom, hand gone, back on he goes. In one game. If that is shades of things to come, extending him is a scary prospect to me.
If you give him a long term deal and he stays healthy and pulls out of the slump? Awesome. But if not, if he keeps getting hurt, even if the play improves, you're worth $0 on the IL.
You could try to give him a short term deal. See if he stays healthy, then re-visit things down the road. But then, if you give him a short term deal and he does bounce back, has an all star season, now you have to give him a huge raise or lose him.

Overall, I still think they should extend him. And maybe with the injury stuff, that lowers his price so your lengthy deal can come in cheaper. Then if/when he bounces back, awesome! You have an all star shortstop at relatively bargain price locked up for, say, 7-8 years. The injury stuff just now makes me leery. I have no doubt the player he can be. I just hope he can stay healthy and be that Bo Bichette again.

Congrats to Ohtani. All the Jays could do is put out their best offer. At the end of the day, whatever the UFA chooses is up to them.

Glad to see Vladdy get his 30th homerun yesterday. It was impressive until Ohtani overshadowed him...AGAIN!

I'm still mad they didn't get Ohtani. But Peter is right. He's the best ballplayer ever to play in MLB. Watching him is fun. Congratulations to Ohtani

yes. ohtani played toronto, not the yankees, mets, cubs, etc to get dodgers to pay more…

we all know toronto, rogers has a track record of spending insane amounts on free agents.

like that time we signed IKF…

Losing Ohtani was disappointing, but it was more fun Jays fans have ever had in the offseason.
This offseason could be just as exciting...and its not necessarily hinged on one guy.

I'd pay Bo 20 to 25 million a year right now. He had a bad year, yes. He is a good player though. Move him to 2nd and find a really good defensive ss, even if his bat is mediocre.

He will always have issues defending, remember how many errors he has made in his career

First of all
No should be embarrassed to come back the other day completely out of shape !!!
You can be injured and also look after your body
Hockey, football players do it .. with worse injuries.
Horrible example for his teammates and fans ..
The club should be ashamed of themselves for not monitoring his progress during injury .
I love my Jays and baseball but their commitment to eating properly and staying in shape leaves me shaking my head
Get rid of this player and get some good return before his cancerous behaviour rubs off .
I was loving their recent commitment and love of the game while he was gone ..
Hes a very good hitter and average defender and horrible teammate

I want to see the Blue Jays hire Billy Beane's friend in the movie moneyball. I believe he was working with Mark Shapiro in Cleveland so there is a connection there.

I want the front office to change before anything is changed on the field. I dont trust any decision those bozo’s make.
