I am autistic, diagnosed as an adult. My daughter is autistic too - and I am learning to treat her differently to how I was brought up watching your videos. Thank you

I love how you deal with haters, and playfully fight with them! It's a great solution. You help me a lot (a person with adhd and Autism) and you also help a lot of other people. People don't have to look or sound autistic to have autism, it's a spectrum. Some of us slowly learn to fit in. I had to learn a lot before I fit in somewhat

Knowing that there are people who hate you is so baffling to me. You're so lovable to me. I might be your biggest neurotypical fan. I've always been more accepting toward autistic people in general, what with me having had several autistic friends over the course of my life and doing more research than most neurotypical people would do.

But it's only once I stumbled across your channel that autism became a "special interest" of mine. I put quotation marks because it's not a term that applies to allistic people, but it's the best and most concise way of describing how I feel about it.

I started researching the subject a lot more deeply in order to fully understand it. I also started spending a lot of time on r/autism, loving the community. I've been able to contribute, share, help, empathize, and learn.

I realized that I've had a lot more autistic friends than I thought, including love interests. They either kept it secret or were undiagnosed. Both are equally likely because my best childhood friend never told me he was autistic, but I knew he was because his mother told mine. I didn't really understand what autism really was all about apart from the nonverbal child stereotypes portrayed in media. The only difference it made is that I learned not to blindly trust stereotypes.

I also realized that several of the characters I wrote for my first novel are actually autistic even though it wasn't my intention. It makes sense considering one of its themes is school bullying, a subject that personally touches me. Speaking of fictitious characters, I started recognizing autistic ones on TV that are too subtle and not stereotypical enough to be seen as such by neurotypical people in general. Once I researched them, I noticed that it was the author's intention and/or that the autism community agrees with my observations.

I started bringing autism awareness to people in my entourage. I'm proud to say that I successfully convinced someone who adamantly believed in ABA that it's actually evil and dangerous. At first, he treated me as if I was some kind of flat earther, but I didn't give up and managed to open his eyes.

Keep up advocating for autism awareness. You're doing splendid work. You're not only helping autistic people feel good about themselves, you're also helping neurotypical people understand and make them want to know more.

I'm grateful for you because it really has helped me understand my son more. The fact that others don't think you are autistic is the very reason why I appreciate you. My son doesn't look or sound autistic to me at all. But when I see your videos, I see my son in you.
