I’m not a cardcarrying Fray fan, so maybe I’m not the one to speak on this, but Jesus Christ, this is about as best case a scenario a band could have in replacing an original lead singer. This guy is fantastic, and he’s an original member? This is as good as it gets in this situation, and it’s great.

as a 35 year old, i COMPLETELY FORGOT about The Fray, until this session showed up on my app. i have listened to every song on this particular set 30 times and love it. realizing that this singer, was originally in the band, but not as lead BLOWS MY MIND. he is so good with excellent stage presence. bravo

I Think People Forget Joe’s been singing the whole time, as backup on most songs or lead on a few songs.. like lead Songs he sings ungodly hour, Rainy Zurich, and back up to most if not all others. Long time fan here lol. Love The Fray!! One of my fave bands of all. And I’ve gotten to meet Joe when he was doing a solo concert good dude for sure.

He’s the band member who wrote most of their songs and cosung played guitar. If you think he don’t know how to connect with the songs think about that.

ok as a musician, this updated version is SOOO much more guitar and drum heavy and his voice complements that so well. The piano which used to be the "lead instrument" is now still noticeable but in a complementary way and less of an in your face way. This band this arrangement is so much more mature and a bit grittier which I think its what the band was missing all these years. Simply my honest opinion, but I'd be SOO excited if the band creates new content very soon and expands on their catalogue!

They have a little more grit now that they changed the singer but some of that yearning (for lack of a better word) is gone that made Isaac's vocals so unique. All that being said: it's actually uncanny how similar the two vocals still are. Also: is it me or did Isaac only ever play piano and never acoustic? I think it's kind of refreshing with a lead singer who is also rythm guitarist.

Love this! Been listening to the band basically since the beginning, and I always loved how Joe King sung some songs on their albums (Ungodly Hour and Rainy Zurich come to mind). So it's only natural for him to step into the role of a frontman. I honestly can't think of a better way to continue. Besides, both Isac and Joe have very similar singing styles. This is just a perfect fit for the new era of The Fray.
