In this video, we tackle the question many of you have asked: Will the Harbor Freight trigger style .5mm airbrush spray 2K clearcoat effectively? Join me as we dive into testing the Harbor Freight Black Widow airbrush, which I previously had some issues with in a first review video on my channel.

After encountering problems with the fan pattern despite cleaning and troubleshooting, I decided to exchange the airbrush. Upon unboxing the new unit, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the spray pattern functioned much better, suggesting that the previous one may have been defective.

Now, we're putting this new airbrush to the test to see how well it handles 2K clearcoat. Watch as we explore its capabilities and answer the burning question on its performance with a .5mm fan cap tip. Your feedback and questions are always welcome, so don't hesitate to drop a comment below!

Thank you for tuning in. Don't forget to explore my other custom paint tutorials for more tips and tricks.

I just got my Black Widow trigger type air brush today from harbor freight. ($79.95 for air brush, $17.00 for an extended two year warranty, plus local state tax, $102.00 total price). I haven't even opened it yet. Maybe I'll open it tomorrow. But it seems to have a lot of good positive reviews on YouTube with only a very few negative cons on those reviews. I already have several airbrushes. One of them is the Iwata Eclipse HP/CS. (A very good airbrush), I needed an air brush that I can hold and work because: (FYI, if you are interested that is) I have Esophageal Cancer, So, I'm now indefinitely on a specific type of Chemo Therapy (with infusion ball, and when I’m on that stuff (renewed every 14 days), it is hard to get my fingers to work an airbrush lever because the side effects of that chemo and infusion is that it causes my fingers to not want to move and feels like I’m being shocked with ten thousand volts ac house current in the tips (up to the first knuckles of my fingers, even if I just touch something), especially if the temperature drops down into the mid sixties or lower. - Drats’ I can’t even drink a cold one (or anything cold for that matter), as it always feels like it immediately turns to solid miniature ice crystals in my mouth. Do yourself a favor… Don’t get old it s… u… c… k… s. Oh wait, that never works either. Double Drats, and Darn it all. Oh well, so much for life. LOL. Anyway. Thanks for the great review.

I started with a Master Airbrush special from Amazon. I upgraded to the trigger Black Widow a week ago, it helped improve my airbushing and gave me more confidence. If anything it is a great intermediate airbrush if you're not sure you want to invest in more expensive options.

I like all the features and the exposed needle for fine work. Very nice.

When you remove paint cup cap try twisting upwards & clockwise so you don’t accidentally loosen the cup itself. Maybe that will help 🤷🏼‍♂️ ... I am definitely gona tryout this trigger style airbrush!! Thanks for the review & upload! After this video I’ll have to watch your review on the compressor

Now we need to see if the Webmaker stuff from Lime Line will spray thru this Black Widdow correctly . Because lets face it, loading up a full size or even a mini gun, to spray a model car, truck, plane, T-Bucket dash panel or other really small project, just aint gonna cut it having to mixing up that much Webmaker paint. Maybe a Paasche Talon with the .66 needle and fan spray cap setup will work ?

Thanks for a great video.
Looks to me like the pressure is too high. As this style airbrush (I have 3 Creos ps290 and a paasche Talon with fan caps) does not have a fan control, the fan is controlled mainly by the pressure setting and to some degree the paint thickness.

I used mine last night for some small interior parts on my truck. Worked great. I think I prefer your mini gun for anything larger than say, 3 or 4 sq. ft. though just because of the size and amount of product it lays down.

How hard it is to clean? 2k is not something that will dissolve later. I use vaccum suction type airbrush with 1.0 nozzle, but I want flat spray pattern. Is there vaccum airbrushes with flat spray pattern?

When i seen that pattern i thought something was wrong.. clogged or something. Looks like it would be great with an even fan

For good smooth 2K finish you might try rustoleum lacquer leveling thinner!🤔

It's good but can't find parts that fit it. The needle is 14cm long vs 13 which is all you can find on Amazon or anywhere else, so I can't even replace the needle for it. Needle is also thicker than the universal ones that master brush would use, so you can't swap parts....

You know where can I get replacement nozzles? The air brush came with a 0.5mm and 0.3mm but I would love to have a 0.2mm

I've never seen anybody use a airbrush pointing down I think that is the problem lol 😆
