Sanjay Suri was born on 6 April 1971 in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. His father Virinder Suri was killed in a terrorist attack. His mother Urvashi Suri is a home maker.

Sanjay has a Brother Raj Suri and a sister Vandana Suri. He is married to Ambika Suri on 21 November 2001.
