Lend-Lease Aircraft / War Thunder

The Lend-Lease policy was a program under which the US provided Allied powers with military equipment and strategic resources. Officially, President Roosevelt signed the Lend-Lease bill into law on March 11, 1941… but in reality things were slightly more complicated, especially with aircraft. Years before the start of the war in Europe, the US had already begun supplying friendly nations with American planes. For example, during the Second Sino-Japanese War, the Air Forces of the Republic of China purchased more than a hundred Curtiss Hawk III biplanes, and later bought a batch of Martin 139WC bombers as well. Despite considerable difficulties, the Chinese also succeeded in setting up the production of the American Vultee V-11 attack aircraft and Curtiss P-36 monoplane fighters.

I really liked the small reference I found that link to a special event I went to at 6:00. The 2 Lancasters shown here are of the last 2 airworthy Lancasters on earth, one belonging to Canada and one to the UK. They flew together for the last time back in 2014, I remember seeing them together at the Eastbourne International Airshow, however the Canadian plane did not look as extravagant as it does there. It was a very touching moment back then to see them fly together in a peaceful sky that they had worked so hard to protect, and this reference here really reached my heart back to that moment. Its my birthday today too, thank you very much Gaijin, this is the best present you could have given me <3.

You probably don't read these but I hope someone finds it and shares this moment with me.

Italy is still missing their Lend-Lease planes…. However, I would much prefer domestic designs in the tree, but these lend-lease aircraft should be premiums.

Q: Do aircraft bullets fly faster when shot from a moving plane compared to one that is stationary? And does it affect penetration?

In the 1971 civil war, Pakistan got some leased F104s from the US and Jordan along with F5 Tigers from Iran.
Some of the Starfighters that came from the US still had that star roundel on it and a guy who's uncle flew one said that the he confused many intruding Indian pilots with it.

Martlet* Bruce, you said you got new glasses!

Love the video by the way. Just a talk about the vehicles that made it to other countries through the US's industrial might and a little dealmaking.

This is so interesting! The same with the Studebaker's truck frame and the Kastysha rocket system, when ussr soldiers put the Katysha rocket system on top of the Studebaker truck things got perfect
