Tory leadership: 'Rishi doesn't think it's in the bag'

Rishi Sunak does not think the leadership contest "is in the bag", according to supporter and Home Secretary Grant Shapps.

Mr Shapps spoke to Sky News following Boris Johnson's swift exit from the Conservative party leadership race.

He added, "I think Boris Johnson was actually in many ways a very impressive prime minister."

Bojo's way of saying I stepped aside to allow Rishi to take the top position but, of course, if I had continued to stay in the race then I would have won and once again being PM, but I'm so graceful and charitable I allowed Rishi this opportunity.
