As a former GPS satellite operator (USAF, now Space Force) I can tell you solar flares and weather does impact reception of GPS signals. There is always some solar weather, and in really small cases the moon will shield "some" of the solar weather if it's between us and the sun.

Russ, you are absolutely right. Using a bracketed (AEB) mode gives the best results. I always use 5 shots and when I merge them in Lightroom, rarely do they need any adjustments and if they do, they are usually minor.

The AEB shots are my go-to on days when I don't feel like tweaking photos on editing softwares. And with the Mini 3 Pro, the shots come out great anyway!

I've always loved this channel, but I love it more after seeing Russ' shirt!

The reason the Plus battery doesn't get as hot is because there is more material to allow the battery to act as a heat sync (? sp). At least that's my guess.

I’m really surprised and sorry to hear folks are having to wait a long time to receive their Mini 3 Pros!
I was so lucky with mine here in the UK. I ordered it on Sunday and it was delivered two days later!
Ironically I haven’t had chance to fly it yet and as it’s my first drone I’m watching as many tutorials as I can before so do. 51 Drones is my ‘Go To’ channel for helping me to reduce the steepness of the learning curve!

Mine should be here on Wednesday. Mavic 3 on Friday. Sent my mini 2 in for repairs. I use mine for photography and checking farm fields. MT and ND have enough extreme weather conditions to test all these. Hot and windy, cold and windy.

Thanks Russ for this video. I do like the format very much. I am still waiting for my Mini 3 Pro to arrive... hopefully in the next 10 days and excited for when it comes. Knowing how to land the Mini 3 Pro in the hand is super helpful. There was one video I seen a few weeks ago where the guy was telling people to flip it over on it's side, so I suppose that is why so many folks started doing it that way. This way you mentioned seems so much better (and kinder to the drone). Thanks for all your instruction and is always so helpful and definately appreciated.

Good morning! The first thing I saw on my YouTube Feed was this video. Great timing. Here in Northern Arizona temperatures can still get high quickly. Fortunately we haven't broken 100 degrees yet this year. But getting close. I wanted to share an interesting "non drone" item that cropped up on a flight yesterday. We're testing a GoPro Hero 10 for documenting our drone site visits. At 81 degrees F the GoPro Hero 10 shut itself down due to over heating. I always worry about the drone overheating. But the GoPro? Quite surprising. We'll be doing some more testing with it in the near future. Thanks for all of your great information on your channel!

Just been out in UK with MM3 Pro 19 July and picked up 24 satellite signals. So just as normal really. Many thanks for the advice about landing on the hand, that works perfectly and so now I can both take off and land from my hand which is a great convenience. I had to go out this morning quite early because today we might get 40° C. Also I have finally got the hang of HDR. So that's been a good episode really, many thanks.
