I'm not gonna let the PC Bros make me feel shame for upgrading to the geforce RTX 4060 over my old radeon rx 570. It was the highest performance GPU at the cheapest price that was compatible with my Aorus B450 M motherboard. If i went any higher, I would have had to buy brand new everything, so I'm comfortable with my recent purchase. And now i can finally experience ray tracing that I've been hearing about for the longest time!

I don't agree with people who say what you shouldn't buy such and such card, because it all depends on the consumer's needs. And I'll tell you exactly when you should buy an RTX 4060. Here's a concrete example:
- I have a friend who wants to upgrade his Geforce 770 graphics card just to play Cyberpunk 2077 in 1080p with the RT ultra and get at least 50-60 fps (and sometimes online games like Chivalry 2 and Smite) and his budget is 280-320€. Here's the question: which graphics card is best suited to this need? Once you've checked all the benchmarks on the Internet, you'll understand that AMD are forgotten, because if you set the RTs to ultra, you get a maximum of 23-30 fps with FSR, and the ONLY solution that meets the need and matches the price is the RTX 4060.

Very good video, actually analyzes what the card is made for instead of just complaining. Most people say to just stick with a 30 series, but some of us are still rocking older cards (I'm still using a 1070 for god's sake), and most anything would be a good upgrade. Not to mention, were I to upgrade to a newer 30 series card I'd likely need a higher wattage PSU, but the 4060 has such an incredibly low power usage that I would be totally fine with what I have right now, which is an almost $100 that I'd be saving. Lots of people don't factor that in when they consider the price of new parts, the rest of the PC usually has to get upgraded to compensate, but not with this card.

I’m upgrading from an RX580 4GB which I have used for the past 5 years, to a 4060. I set myself a budget of £300 & since I am planning on sticking with 1080p, feels like a good fit for me.

Your comment at the end on who should get a 4060 was spot on for my scenario, i bought a 4060 because i wanted to try an nvidia card and was upgrading from old card.

if you're coming here late, both the 6700XT and 6750XT are end of life. At a similar price point you can look at the 7600XT. The 7600 (non-XT) remains at a similar price point to the RTX4060, just under USD$300.

My 3060 Ti i picked up 1 and half years ago is ageing like fine wine. Bought it for 300 dollars well under retail brand new best bang for buck I have spent

A potential use for the 4060 is if you are trying to squeak by and upgrade an older PC with a weak PSU. I'm upgrading my 2 kids computers that are Dells with 1060 3GB video cards and 460W PSUs. We upgraded one of them to a 3060 Ti, but the 460W PSU couldn't handle it, and we had to upgrade the PSU as well (and of course, being Dell, we had to modify the case to put the new PSU in it). For the other Dell, I want to try to stay with a low power card that won't require a PSU upgrade, and the 4060 should fit the bill.

The 4060 is a good upgrade for me.. Only $300 on Amazon, and coming from a 1660 ti.. It is a jump up..

If this was a 50 class card Nvidia would have had a decent product on their hands with good generational uplift. Sold as a 60 class card it's DOA.

This card made sense to me for a couple reasons. I'm on an older system. My monitor is 144hz 1080p. My CPU is a Intel 9800k and my power supply is a gold 500 watts. At first I was going to go with the RTX 4070 but then why? I can't game at 1440p unless I buy a new monitor not to mention the 500w power supply would need to be replaced by a 650watt. This of course would make installation more difficult because now I got to worry about cable management on the new PSU. And also my current 1660ti really has never let me down...even with Baldur's Gate 3. But it's limping in Starfield....so the 4060 makes since as a hold over to wait for the time for a new system with a new monitor and/or a new series to release like a rtx 5060. Either way a $2k plus investment so a 4060 is my cheapest option at the moment and will be at least a decent upgrade from a 1660ti.

Hey! Thanks for this information, I am running a 1650 right now but you convinced me to upgrade to a 4060 since I found a good deal with it and I like the look of that one

Regular 3060's are somehow still more expensive on the shelf here in Canada. Even the rx7600 is only 20$ cheaper than the 4060 and the 4070 is TWICE the price. Currently running on integrated graphics on a ryzen 7600, the 4060 is likely a card for me. (Had a gtx660, ryzen integrated is actually better lmao)
It may not run 1440 at max detail great but it'll do fine turning some stuff down. Were people really expecting it to run 4k native max detail 120fps for 300$??? Be realistic people.

Great video. I can't stand when people say the 4060 is decent for 1440p gaming because it's not. It's definitely a 1080p GPU. The same goes for the 4060 Ti. Everyone knows the 4060 is a rebranded 4050, and the 4060 Ti is a rebranded 4050 Ti.

Our server (for game development) has the NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti 6G and we have a choice of a RTX 4060 WINDFORCE OC or a RTX 3060 Ventus 3X OC 12G or a Radeon RX 6750XT 12G or Radeon RX 7600 XT GAMING OC 16GB. All of these are in the 299 to 329 price range. POWER SUPPLY -> 750-Watt, CPU ->AMD R7 3800X, RAM -> 64G so I am pretty sure our Power Supply will easily power any of those video cards

As a NON gamer who only wants to run FlightSIm and Xplane, nothing else, the 4060 with DLSS3 looks like an excellent choice.

I just ordered one. I have a prebuilt PC with a 400W PSU so I need something low power and nothing I have found can compete with the 4060 on power vs performance

Very new to PC gaming, bought a pre built with this card in it. I run it at 1440p and 120HZ for all my current games & I have had zero issues with it so far I actually love the way it looks and plays with these settings.

The summary really sums it perfectly, I'm really tired of the whole "Nvidia bad AMD good" or "just spend some more money and get something better" stance so many are taking. As long as people are aware of their options and are making an informed decision, more power to them for getting this or any other card they want.
