I was always fooled into believing you need a daylight 6500k bulb for veg and a 2500k for flower, after listening to Mr Migro's advice I decided to switch to a 3500k LED floodlight from the DIY shop, and the results speak for themselves. Totally outperforms the dedicated grow lamps I was using before, purely down to colour temp. It makes absolute sense that if a plant cannot process more than "X amount" of blue light, then you are wasting efficiency by giving it extra blue light.

Shane thank you so much for these videos! I would love to thank you somehow for these amazing tests! I have the red/blue light. 3w leds. 65 red and 17 blue along with 4 orange and 12 white 1 infrared and uv = 100. And i can tell you from my cannabis growing that stems stay super short even after 5th node at 5cm! Its really a damn truth! Those type of lights grow most compact plants (okay excluding 5000k) from seed to harvest. And conversion factor (i use to multiply with lux and get ppfd) is pretty high - 0.0292.

I start seedlings every year for a habitat restoration and cannot find reliable information on what is the best color/intensity for starting seedlings (prairie grasses), then what color/intensity to grow them for a month or-so until I can put them into the greenhouse. My first year with Chinese LED's went pretty badly as the instructions they provided burned the plants. What is the best light for starting seedlings?

Shane I got a great idea for your tests! What about using different kelvins?
For example side by side test with the top ones 3000k-3500k-4000k. I didnt notice that type of video and i think it would be a boom :) and for colder whites 4000k-5000k-6000k. Good luck

I am more looking for tubes or something similar the reason is that I am looking more to build stacked planes vertical farm (Aeroponics). I can answer this real quick. 4000k 80-90cri led. 125w-160 will easily grow 4 plants in a 3x3 grow tent. Rapidly!

Hi, I’m trying to grow strawberries in wertical-hidrophonic system and trying it fully indoor. I have too many problems. Brown roots, burnt leaves ect. Need your all advices.
