(In my point of view) The boat is representing journey of life. Lonely mermaid in the water represents that life is beautiful yet lonely. The girl in the boat is enjoying her journey of life and seeing the beauty of life while the boys are so lost in their own that they can't even see the beauty the life holds.
When mermaid comes close to the girl (when loneliness and sorrow comes to the girl (as tanhai bings sorrow)), the girl faces it with a bright smile so the mermaid floats away. Indicating to face the dark phase of life with courage and optimism.
At the end they all are in the water indicating that their journey has come to the end..

I love the deeper meaning of the video. The “mermaid” is actually the goldfish at the end I think..she might represent life, like the main lyric “zindagi hai kitni haseen hai phir bhi ajab tanhayi”. Shae gill’s character looks at her with so much courage, even though the fish looks back in such a blank and sad way, like life stares back at us… made me feel so emotional. At the end all of them accept life by going into the water, I think that’s what this means 🤔😢
