Minor Lore Correction:

Baptiste knew mauga was alive, he used the immortality field to make sure the explosion would severely injure, but not kill Mauga.

Also Mauga uses the big silly goofy reinhardt-esque personality as a front, keeping his more cunning and malicious side on the down low.

Btw that surgery also gave Mauga a cybernetic heart which he then later down the line decided to get a 2nd one. You can see them from the two cybernetic things on his chest and which is why he says "Two hearts pumping" on *cardiac* overdrive.

He is literally a heart attack and unlike roadhog does not need to *take a breather* . I'm sorry I'll go jump into the lava on samoa now.

tip: the enemies don’t have to be set on fire by Mauga for him to get crits. So Ashe’s dynamite and Torbs Molten Core will give him crits. (Assuming they didn’t change it from the weekend he was playable and I’m not going insane). So using them can help Mauga keep the enemy on fire without him having to switch guns every nano second at range

I like how in his background he was a tall, skinny guy with hair like Samson. Weirdly, him having two hearts makes a lot of sense- bodybuilders die early due to heart issues so having two to power his massive form would prevent this. Look at Rich Piana for an example of a dude who was just too big for his heart to handle

IMO Mauga is a perfectly balanced tank

he CAN be killed if you just play smart and go for his supports

and he HIMSELF can be a MENACE and almost feel UNSTOPPABLE if played correctly

mercy main here- I swear I screamed internally whenever my tank picked Mauga, he definitely needs more buffs. I did really enjoy playing support for him though. Great video as always, Macro!

One thing i heard you didn’t point out. The charge isn’t stopped by any cc. As you can see in the beginning there. It wasn’t affected by Sigma’s ult. So basically. The only thing that can stop the charge is death

A big thing left out is that his charge is *unstoppable*, so yes he's a fortified train coming your way (but not the massive german in rocket propelled armored suit???).

This means he can run through ultimates (my guy does not care if you shatter, choo choo!) and so he can run through cage fight. Cage fight does cancel movement abilities though as mentioned meaning once your in you wont get out but if you need to get past it on the outside choo choo by.

Btw cage fight stays down after death so dont be afraid to hold a team from getting to point with a sacrifice. On top of that bap is evil as he can throw a lamp on the outside of the cage, leaving you with 5 seconds of immortality unless someone on the outside destroys it.

Kitsune -> Mauga run and slam w/Mei and Soldier behind him -> Cage Fight + Mei Ult -> Visor w/ Mercy Pocket. Overkill AF but WHO CARES?!?!?!.

here is another tips when using his charge, similar to doomfirst charge punch, you can cancel at same time press jump, with correct timing, you can get enough momentum to carry foward, instead of slamming or you standing still after cancel the charge
