'Digsaw' by 'The Wytches' was the band's self-released debut single of which was released back in Jan 2013.
'The Wytches' are a Brighton based who formed at the back end of 2011. They have a cynical, dark and flowery take on psychedelia, 50's surf riffs, desert whips, loungey, melancholic shuffles and a stage performance that puts you under their spell.
January 2013 saw the band launch their debut single 'Digsaw' of which was a self released 7" vinyl and have since been signed by indie label 'Hate Hate Hate Records' who also released the bands second single 'Beehive Queen' in June 2013. All through 2012-13 'The Wytches' have focused on their live performances and have toured throughout the UK supporting bands such as 'Drenge' 'METZ' and 'Iceage'.
Now in 2014 the band are all set to release their debut album 'Annabel Dream Reader' which is set for release on the 25th August 2014.
'Annabel Dream Reader' was recorded at 'Liam Watson’s 8-track analogue 'ToeRag Studios' in Hackney and was tracked in two days under the supervision of producer 'Bill Ryder-Jones' (ex-The Coral).
'Annabel Dream Reader' comprises of thirteen songs, of which sees the three-piece accomplish a dark and heady sound that embraces the black arts and the more extreme limits of rock, but which is never prescriptively macabre. Far from it, the band displays a broadness of influences – all at once the songs reference surf, grunge, metalcore and spy movie scores.
'The Wytches' will then head head out on a UK Tour to promote the album and trust us they are a must see live band so go grab yourselves a ticket you really won't be disappointed:
