What is a supersonic cruise missile?

On Thursday, Pakistan claimed an unarmed flying object from India entered its airspace. India Friday confirmed that a missile had entered Pakistan from India Wednesday due to 'accidental firing' caused by a 'technical malfunction' in the 'course of routine maintenance'. Wrong. Brahmos which is a cruise missile uses solid rocket boosters engine in the first stage and using the Ramjet engine in second stage.
A cruise missile is simply a missile that flies close to the ground and has much lower ceiling and range.
