Automatic trunk open/close

I have an idea to better clean up the install
Have a relay that latches on with the button and wire the "latch off" input to the trunk light. So it stops closing when the light is turned off my the trunk coming down

This is awesome.. put a mirror on the back of the trunk.. as soon as you see someone coming behind you with high beam just open up the truck and let the mirror do its work..close the trunk as soon as that car low beams.. can you do a detailed tutorial video?

Hi all! FIRST OF ALL DISCONNECT THE BATTERY COMPLETLY FROM YOUR CAR BEFORE YOU BEGIN INSTALLATION. These are the parts and steps I used, a drill motor with the gear housing attached to a piece of plywood that I bolted to the cars body via behind the back seat, I used a piece of sheet metal I cut out to mount the motor to the wood then I inserted a long bolt into the chuck of the drill, this is tethered to another piece of sheet metal to keep the motor from being pulled out of the mount thus creating a more reliable unit. I then wrapped the plastic chuck of the drill with the flat rope from a tie down strap, I then bolted the other end of the strap to the trunk hinge. The switch is tricky you have to literally get inside the trunk with a flash light and MANUALLY CLOSE THE TRUNK DONT USE THE ON OFF SWITCH WHILE THE CAR BATTERY IS CONNECTED IT MIGHT CAUSE A SHORT AND BLOW A FUSE OF MESS UP THE CARS ELECTRONICS I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU, I HAVE DISCLOSED THIS TO PREVENT COMPLAINTS. Once inside the trunk tune the screw the up more and more until it consistently pushes the on switch to the off position repeatedly, once confident THEN YOU MAY RECONNECT THE BATTERY and try the system! Good work, but this is very dangerous i think somtimes childeren can put them hands so, , the closing is very fast, whatch the original bmw 7 or Range Rover Auto trunck system, these cars closing very smoothly and there is a sensor, if you try to stop using your hand, it will open again, but i respect your work, you have to improve your system..
