Pretty sure the only difference between a professional and an amateur is whether you’ve been paid or not.

Totally agree. I am trying to correct my bow technique. There is so much to think about. Elbow height, wrist, fingers

Bow technique is 💯 the hardest part of violin 😭

I am so sure that the bow is actually harder than the left hand (besides vibrato ofc) but everyone would think that the actual notation is the hardest part but it’s actually the expensive stick we payed for

I’m trying to get a nice spicatto on the presto for summer on every note and in my opinion the thing that gives that piece its glory is the bow arm not the left hand. For some reason I always thought it was so difficult. It’s actually pretty easy! (As long as u have a controlled right bow arm and hand lol)

I play flute and I'm super confused, but educational/interesting nonetheless! I've always loved how violin players sound, though all this looks way too complicated for me 🥲 better stick with my woodwinds.

Terrific Corrie. But then, how does one do a spicatto/staccato legato run and have all three motions working against each other properly? lol like the legato, the run and the fingers working properly. Or is the pressure supposed to feel differently from the typical separate legato or spicatto?

Edit: does this also apply to on/off staccato?

Love your helpful video! Could you make a video about rosin in the future? (Sometimes I feel like my bow is sliding a lot on the violin, but I'm not sure if it is rosin problem or just me playing not well).
