Copacabana Rio De Janeiro at night | Is it Dangerous walking around?

So I walked around Rio De Janeiro filming everything. Basically my entire trip. I have endless amounts of random footage. How dangerous is Copacabana walking around at night filming? Find out for your self with a first-person view of me walking around.

Before I went to Brazil, I saw a lot of videos and heard a lot of people saying how dangerous it was. How the phone and camera snatchers are out lurking. I walked around Copacabana at 2-3 and 4 am at night and had no issues. Everyone can definitely have a different experience than me. Let me know what you think in the comment section below.

Lived i Tio for 18 years, and nothing bad has ever happent. That said, my wife, who is Brazilian and our daugther have been robbed at gun point several times. I guess bring a foreigne, we spot dangers better than the natives...

Yes the south beaches part is the safest. But avoid the center

I’m 5’6 and white. I can hold my ground but do you think danger would be a much greater problem for me? Or if you’re sensible is it often all fine?

Well, it kinda depends where you are. Copacabana and alot of the south districts are safe for the most part but you need to be aware of certain streets. But def be careful when you go more up north. Two guys tried to rob me near the famous steps and this was in broad daylight with lots of people around. Luckily I was able to punch one robber while he tried to grab my phone and only got kicked by the other guy before I ran off. Luckily they didn't have weapons. Keep your phones in pocket and don't wear jewelry or lots of cash. You'll mostly be safe but you never know. I never thought it would even be attempted on me and I've been to alot of crazy countries. Just use common sense, Rio is beautiful though :)

More safe than New York, Chicago and Baltimore so if you can love there you can live in rio

I have visited brasil as a tourist and they are keeping me by force by not allowing me to leave the country by plane after I have purchased 2 tickets, forcing me to spend all money I have on higher then market prices on food, drinks and accommodations. Somebody from brasil destroyed my mobile phone and laptop so I cannot access money which is violation pf laws. I seeked help from police and they refused to work. Government is very efficient when they support monopliea on policing with tributes/taxea they are collecting by force and violence. Now I am stuck in brasil. Do not come to brasil.
