Passive-ish income is the only way to go. Dividends, options premium, rental properties... invest in buy-and-hold assets from wich you can generate monthly or quarterly cash flow. Focus on acquiring valuable skills that lead to higher paying jobs so you can by more of the above... reduce expenses where possible, avoid non-mortgage debt.

You should look at Robin Hood. It is the wild west of day trading young people. Lives are being ruined. They artificially drive the prices up with a get in at all cost trading philosophy. It's madness.

Stock picking as a small part of your investing can be profitable. And then some, maybe not so profitable. But learning how to read a annual report and interpreting a P/L statement is a skill every investor should know. Does it make you a better speculator/stock picker?
Over time, yes. Especially if you are using real money. But win or loose at individual stock picking, it makes you a better investor. How many read the annual reports of their ETF's and Mutual Funds?
Probably very few. Because while you have money in the game, you don't feel connected to your investments.

I tried picking stocks twice and fell flat on my ass. In fact, one was an OTC up and comer, I bought shares at $0.6/share and it grew to about $22/share but everyone said to hold because they were headed to the NYSE, so I held even in the decline. Eventually sold at $3/share and learned my most memorable lesson about greed.

We have another coffee company here in TN called Black Rifle Coffee Company. A bunch of crazy service vets.

I fresh grind my own organic coffee a day ahead. Make my own coffee creamers with healthy ingredients. In my house, coffee is a health food and delicious. Cannot relate to the buying ready-made coffee crowd. I'd rather invest that money.

We budget getting coffee out for two once a month as a splurge, buy discounted gift cards for those purchases and get and use points from those purchases so overall its not that expensive. All valid points though.

WB started investing at 10 so he had the what Einstein called the "eight wonder of the world" working in his favor.
