New polling shows a potential Trump criminal conviction could have a major impact on the 2024 race. Matt Seligman, Stanford legal scholar and author of 'How to Steal an Election,' and Ruth Ben-Ghiat, historian and author of 'Strongmen,' join Charles Coleman Jr. to discuss the significance of a potential conviction. Seligman also discusses why the Supreme Court’s potential decision to rule in Trump’s favor in the Colorado 14th Amendment case could still have a “silver lining,” particularly for Jack Smith.

It comes to something when even Italy and Brazil have a more balanced court system than you do in the US!!!!

Our court system is a flawed system with justice being applied on a slant scale and not for the good of the country

So states cant disqualify Trump because SCOTUS says that giving them this power would mean a "patch-work"of different interpretations of section 14, but when it comes to abortion, its ok??

Section 3 states “But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.” Doesn’t that imply that Congress did not need to be involved in disqualifying the former office holder in the first place?!? That sentence was not written to indicate that Congress changed its mind and reversed its own earlier vote-that’s just not what it says. What other qualifications for presidency must be voted on by Congress? Age? Birthplace?

How can so many people in power and lawmakers be so confused over this😂😂😂

"Silver Lining"? It's the Gold Standard. Both the correct legal interpretation and what is good for the country. This is likely to be a 9-0 ruling.

If section 3 of the 14th amendment doesn't apply to Donald Trump then what's the point of even keeping it as an amendment if the highest Court of the land refuses to use it when it's needed to be used to preserve democracy

The most based part of the SC likely ruling in his favor is that you CAN try again….prove it in court charge him with insurrection…but they never will. That opens up discovery and subpoenas 🤫

Imagine defending a state arbitrarily banning the most popular candidate in the country from the ballot and still thinking you’re the ones fighting against fascism.

The voting public needs these trials to be quickly determined so they can know whether or not to vote for someone who has been judged of breaking laws or not. No delays.

Of the 5 people who died
Only1 was killed and that one was an unarmed woman, shot by a Capital Police officer

To hear them say that a conviction *could* sway *certain* voters is really incredible.
What a cult.

Accusations does not mean guilt, yet just accusing someone of it is grounds for ballot removal. Democratic logic....SMH

They're gonna get what they deserve if they keep it up. And you know what that's gonna be first goes. The supreme court, then it's the senate and dennis the house of representatives and any other legal aspect to protect us

So if they keep Trump off the ballot that means we can keep joke Obiden off the ballot in South Carolina 🤔
