A rare recording of SWANS playing "Strip/Burn" & "Weakling" at Group W Cable (a cable tv station) in Dearborn, Michigan in December of 1982.

1. Strip/Burn
2. Weakling

I'm not sure what the lineup was for this, but I believe Sue Hanel was the guitarist at this time. Jonathan Kane on drums/percussion. Michael Gira on vocals. Gira may be the bassist here as well.

I was able to see Swans live three times: 'Great Annihilator' tour (1995), 'Soundtracks For the Blind' tour (1996), & 'To Be Kind' tour (2014). They're one of the best live bands I've ever seen, & I've seen a lot. If you ever have the opportunity to go to one of their shows, you should go. You won't regret it.

Go here & score some music from Mr. Gira, all:

Sue Hanel's last show with swans was December 27th 1982, so this would definitely be her.

I'm pretty sure that in the really early days they had two bass players for a while which sounds to me like what's going on here. One of those bass players was Thurston Moore so it's possible that it's him.
