This is how I built the foundation for my greenhouse. There are many ways to build it but this is the method I used to allow me to plant inground in my greenhouse.

6'x8' Mythos Palram here ... Put down a 4x6 (landscape timber) base, screwed to our deck. I don't think yours, or ours, will fly away anytime soon, nice job. We still have the top half to assemble and will get to that in the next day or few. We got the automatic vent opener for vent and louvers . Thanks for the video! I beefed up the angle braces with 3/4 aluminum angle 1/16 thick. Since we get snow I'm also putting in truss braces, using same angle and attached to the slot in panel frame. I envy being able to plant right into the earth, but will make do with pots, fabric bags and trays. Enjoying your channel, thanks!

You'll be lucky to get 10 years with that base. I done the exact base, same size lumber, stone beneath and these so called pressure treated lumber are rotting already. If it wasn't for the 4 foot steel anchors underground on all sides and corners, its gonna tip or worse still blow into neighbors yard causing damage. Mine is being removed and concrete footings replacing the wood.

People really under rate having good growing spaces. If you sort automatic watering it doesn't take a lot of time. If your growing just for yourself/family you could even pay yourself pocket money for hours spent and still save a bucket load for the equivalent food.
If your into clean organic food it's hard to buy as fresh and clean as what you harvested 30mins ago.
Pays for itself in no time.
Veg should come from your back yard, meat from the bush packaged in skin, fish from your local water. Transported stuff should be a treat at most.
Food is free with a bit of setup, I do still cheat & buy tropical fruit every now and then but that is a very small percent.

This is one of the best videos on YouTube with regards to how to set up the base. Thank you.

nice build! i would have used cedar and avoided the pressure treated lumber since planting in ground and water will allow the chemicals to leach towards the food and then eaten by me.

What about laying down 6' x 8' (dimensions of your greenhouse) 4x4s as the foundation? Then lag the base to the 4x4s?

Hi! I liked your practical idea for the foundation. We’d like to do something similar for ours. Do you mind me asking what dimensions you cut your 4x6’s pieces to?

Would you plant in containers or in ground in a greenhouse?

Thanks for your video on building the base. I have the same 6X8 parham greenhouse. Wasn’t sure how to build base. Your video is exactly what I would like to do. How much dirt did you dig out, how much gravel did you use ? Is the gravel just under the posts?. I’m thinking I would like to use gravel under the entire house and two feet out the sides for additional pots. I would like to place 12” pavers as the floor inside the 6X8 posts . Any suggestions. Thanks for your videos

What type of rock did you use? I am considering using a rock smaller in diameter but curious your thoughts on size and stability.

If I could heat it I would do flowers in pots.

Hey, I know you did this quite a while ago, but is there a reason you chose the 4x6 rather than a 4x4? Is it flush on the inside with the excess on the exterior? Does the extra 4 inches help out with the door height?
