First, the Series 3 has a pretty big watch face! When you’re getting an Apple Watch you’re probably going to want to learn about the screen. The size of it is just over an inch and a half with an OLED screen, if you’re not sure what that means then let me tell you that it makes it nice and easy on the eyes. It’s going to still offer you some beautiful colours and an easy to read screen.

Second, this thing has tons of awesome features! The Watch will allow you to make contactless payments with your Apple pay setup, make calls and see your text notifications. Countless of other apps as well as the ability to use all of the Fitness tracking that the iPhone offers you already all conveniently on your wrist!

Third, you now have cellular access on your watch! The Apple Watch 3 now come with a cellular connection that will cost you roughly an extra 10 bucks a month. Which means you can use the watch without having to have your Iphone around.

Fourth, the base watch is kind of boring. You can really only get the colours in silver or grey which isn’t the biggest thing in the world. But you can at least get a ton of different watch strap designs and colours so you can mix and match to find the perfect one to show off your personality.. Also luckily the bands are that nice smooth silicone so it won’t catch on anything and be comfortable to wear!

Lastly, the battery life kind of sucks. Sure it will last you an entire day before you have to charge it back up but that’s only if you are using it without the GPS which would only get you about 5 hours which again isn’t really that great. So if you’re not heavy using it then it will last but it’s not for those people who are up at 6 AM and finish their day by 10 PM.

These 5 things make the Apple Watch 3 still a viable Apple Watch on the market right now and a perfect option for anyone wanting to dive into the Apple Watch for the first time for less.

I currently own the series 3. It is my first smartwatch. It covers all the bases for me. Best for tracking fitness goals and, of course, telling time. It’s a little sluggish when trying to do anything else, but still doable.

I love my S3 watch! I got the 38mm and it fits perfectly. It has everything I need, it feels good on. I couldn’t care less about the square display or the digital crown not being flush and swiping around the apps is nice and smooth. The price was right too. If you don’t need fall detection or are watching your budget, this is a great watch. It just upgraded to the latest OS so I’m thinking it will be around for awhile. 🤞

Great review. Informative and well presented. One bit of advice: ditch the cap on backwards look (unless catching in baseball) especially inside. Looks silly and may impact on your credibility with non-American audiences. Other than that, all good.

I owned the Series 3 from mid-2018 until September 2022 which was replaced by the all new Series 8. And it was a great watch and served its purpose.

I’m getting my first Apple Watch Wednesday via Back Market. I’m excited. I’ve had a Fitbit Versa 2 for years now but when I swapped to an iPhone I got tired of not being able to answer calls or respond to texts on my watch so knew I had to change over.
