Thanks for being here!

In todays episode Hunter connects with Tucson based botanist Greg Starr who wrote the description for FO-76 making it officially Agave oteroi. Although Greg has written the description and published it there remains fierce debate online as to wether it is simply just the green titanota and so we are diving in to the thought process and reasoning that Greg used to give FO-76 its designation as a species and hopefully this sheds some light and clarifies things. I would love to know you thoughts in the comment section below. Thanks for watching! 🌵🔥

Clear as mud 😋 I have titanota Black and Blue oteroi filagree, and they do look wildly different in terms of leaf shape and form, both about the same age. However, when looking at these examples, I genuinely don't follow and the oteroi examples look like titanota 😂

Pfff i think i got more confused with this video 😵‍💫

I just think that Oteroi is the green leaf-white spine agave
And Titanota is the blue leaf-white/ brown spine

Anyway, i just know i love agaves!

That was wild. I’m questioning whether my Titanona/s are Oteroi or something else now. 😅 great video btw. These are my favorite agave.

Loved this, thank you, it’s much clearer to me(I think!). I would have liked a smaller titanota same size as the oteroi for the discussion and comparison (or even better a bigger oteroi).

cultivators use rubberbands to tighten the ball or cut off the crown because its more tightly wrapped than the base
