Here’s the engine tuner I’m going with!

I have a 2021 JLU Rubicon with the 2.0. I have been a Jeep owner since 1987. I have had several motors including V8s. I did months and hundreds of hours of research trying to find actual negative data on the engine. Everything negative I found was opinion without data on what someone "thought" would happen. I even researched the European versions of the engine to try and get longer reliability data. All the data based research I found was all positive for the 2.0 being the best choice. Most of the negative fall back of other Jeep owners (when I bring up the 2.0 specifications) is it will not be as reliable, but again that's all opinions. Time will tell. For now I have had the Jeep a year and love the engine on and off road; even running 37's. Off the line, on the interstate, crawling the rocks, or slinging mud with fast turning tires; for me it was the best choice.

Retired factory rep here. I have driven em all too. Its the bomb! Does everything well. Its new in the US. Not in Europe. Its in Alfa’s and runs like stink. It runs like stink at all rpms. 8 spd just makes it! At altitude, doesn’t loos power.

Just came across this video, perfect timing. I was so sure I wanted the Rubicon 3.6 since I have the 2018 that I just gifted my daughter. The dealership only had the 2.0 in the Earl color I wanted. This video made my decision very easy as well as reading the comments! Thanks!!!

I have a 2022 2 door JL with the 2 liter turbo. 36000 miles so far and it runs perfect. Great little engine

I've got a 2020 jl with a 2.0l turbo as well. Mine now has just over 60k miles with no issues whatsoever, just regular maintenance. It's got plenty of power and torque and I get 22 to 23 mpg driving it fairly hard

I have owned mine for over 2 years. If this engine was in a TJ it would be a rocket ship. In my heavy 4 door rubicon hard top with 35s its still fast, able to hold interstates speeds 90+ with no problems. Gas mileage is pretty good. I never imagined a 2.0 with so much USABLE power. Dont know how long its gonna last but runs great and I drove it for over 32 hours straight from coast to coast with zero issues other than stopping to fill up

Hi Matt. I totally agree with you. This 2.0 is a blast to drive. I traded my 5.7 Hemi Grand Cherokee for a 2022 Willys unlimited and was a little apprehensive going to a 4 cylinder but it’s been great! Absolutely love driving it!

2018 JL - 40k miles, oil change every 5k, replaced diff fluid front and rear at 30k, not one problem, holding up Better than expected.

My wife and I bought a 2024 2 door Wrangler Sport. We bought it in February and as of mid July it has 8, 200 miles on it (plus 3, 000 towed miles behind our motor home). I traded in my F150 with V8 and I can tell you we have been totally amazed with this 4 cylinder turbo. I had many concerns buying a 4 cylinder with the turbo, but those concerns have all been laid to rest. Totally agree with you.

Had a wrangler with the 2.0 4 cylinder as a rental and I’m actually pretty impressed it got better gas mileage than what I was expecting and it’s quite powerful and overall I had a lot of fun driving it

When I ordered my JLU last year the 2.0 was my first choice in power train no regrets.

I have a 2021 80th Anniversary with the 2.0. I was worried about getting this over the 3.6L. After 25k, it has been perfect. A bit of valve noise on cold start but zero oil consumption. I'm getting an consistent 20mpg with 35's.

My first Jeep is the wrangler unlimited sport S, with the 2.0 engine. I am very happy with this car. I use it for everyday use, but also to go to the beach and off-pavement roads. Its gas consumption is very good.

Picked up a 2022 Sport S with the 3.0 V6 Turbo Diesel in April. I test drove the 2.0 and did not like it. It got up and moved ok, but it didn't feel right. I wanted the 3.6, but there weren't any in stock in any dealership nearby with the features I wanted. So I ended up taking the plunge with the diesel. I've got ~7200 miles on it now and couldn't be happier. I drive a mix of freeway and city as well as taking a trip from Wisconsin into the Ozarks and back. My average fuel economy has been ~27-28 mpg. On long freeway runs I can get up to 32 mpg. I love the torque on the diesel and couldn't be happier. Hope your 2.0 makes you as happy as my diesel made me. But hey, we're driving Jeeps, so we should be smiling!

TOTALLY AGREE ! Excellent Reviews Matt !! Just over 7 weeks and 5, 000 miles already and making 22/23 MPG ! '22 Willys JLU with 32"s. Got it to 24.5 MPG on recent trip. Never went under 21 MPG on dirt road. Pretty surprised as last Jeep had the V6 and was not as peppy. Great Job on your channel !

I have a 2018 Rubicon with 2.0. Been solid. At 62, 000 miles. Just changed spark plugs. Oil changes are also very easy.

I love this engine also. One thing I have heard people who don't have one complain about is the loss of control when you are off-roading and the turbo kicks in. This is a problem I have never had. I have never had a sudden boost of power while trying to get over an obstacle. Precision control of the throttle is a must and this delivers. I also love the fuel economy. Driving from Denver to Crested Butte and back I can easily get 30mpg if I don't have a lead foot going up the mountains.
