SOAP FOR HOPE
Radisson Blu Hotel, Lusaka Launches Soap for Hope.
On the 13th of August, 2017 Radisson Blu Hotel, Lusaka launched their Soap for Hope Initiative.
Soap for Hope is an initiative being adopted worldwide by Radisson Hotels. Due to the wastage of soap from guests at the Hotel, Sealed Air alongside Radisson Blu took the initiative to recycle the soap and put it to better use.
Kelvin, a trainer from Sealed Air in Kenya, visited the hotel in order to train the team on the process of recycling the unused or semi used soap. 12 team members joined in the training on Wedneday diving in with their YesICan enthusiasm, knowing what they were doing was going to make a big difference in peoples lives.
Having learnt the process, the team traveled to N’gombe Health Centre in N’gombe Area to demonstrate what they have learnt. The beneficiaries of this project are victims and survivors of gender based violence. Radisson Blu & Sealed Air aim to train the beneficiaries to recycle the wasted soap and provide a market for resale.
September is Radisson Responsible Business Month and this initiative has been a great contribution to giving back to the community we are so lucky to live in.
