This is a sad world we live in. The day Ken passed Hot Wheels cars with his name on it hit the market for $200-$500. I don't buy my cars in hopes to make money, I buy them because I want to collect them. Great videos James, keep it up.

I appreciate your passion in the hobby. It's nice to know you are selling legit products

To be fair, it's the responsibility of the car manufacturers to sue companies doing unlicensed products. They're the guys who own the rights to the logo, name and all that. If the car manufacturers don't care about copyright well I guess it's ok for anyone to not bother asking them for a license.

Licensing does not guarantee quality. You can still have a licensed model car and it's accuracy is trash. I've seen enough to question don't Ford, GM, Acura, Honda even care there are people out there making their cars look crap as a model.

If I like it and want it, no matter who makes it, I'll take it. That simple. In fact, a lot of licensed products are weak to me.

Just received two different versions of VW bus in Gulf livery and surf boards from online bidding auction from china….fantastic models so unique with excellent details and reasonably priced….

I don't understand why my review never stays, but... I'll give it one more try! Sensational idea, but I think the collector is more concerned with the quality of the reproduction than whether it is licensed or not. Most collectors I know prefer a well-made Ferrari with a dubious license over a poorly made but well-known brand with a license. Think about it and don't delete the comment, I just want to debate the subject. =)

I get the arguments and frustrations with non-licensed products, but one of the many problems that arises with wanting licensed stuff is that you could be waiting an unknown amount of time for a specific release. The other issue is the mark ups and insane prices they charge you when they finally do release. The customer will go where they can find what they're looking for even if its at the expense of quality assurance. My advice is to make non-license compete with license by being very selective with your purchases and force them to improve upon their releases. It happens in other sectors of collecting.

Hi james, what's your take on CM Models? Their packaging does say "official product" but nowhere does it say "officially licensed". Should a collector go for it?
You're a great help to the collector community and I hope this comment finds you! 😊

I slowly start getting less Hot Wheels for many reasons:
1. Very few detailed cars (more and more are coming in 2024, though)
2. Too much fantasy cars (ik why)
3. Premiums are overpriced in ukraine. I have only one which i got for 8 dollars, and it's really cool, just overpriced
4. Very few actually cool castings appear on pegs in Ukraine. The 500E costs 8 dollars USED, cybertruck almost never appears, and much more

I was surprised how cheap Walmart is selling them. And with the improved quality. I see the same cars I paid up to 5 times as much for, but these have working trunk lids and look better at least far as I can tell without taking them out of the box. The boxes even have clear see through plastic in the front and back so you really can display them better without taking the car out of the box. My collection goes back to the late 1990s and they are much worse quality. I'd rather not pay twice as much for the same thing or worse just because it has a manufacture license. Put that expense into the actual making of the diecast

Time micro is weird and their funky "collabs" are funny as heck. Thats Why i love them and buy what I like. Lmao. Some of their cars such as the Hatsune Miku AE86/GTR, Cyberpunk 2077 Aventador, GULF VW T1, GULF Tacoma... too cool to pass on sometimes. XD

From ken block's controversy aside, Street weapon's R34 stagea and S15 are DOPE tho

So instead of simply listing those brands here in this video, you're making us provide our credit card information and make an actual purchase in order to see the information from the video title?

I agree that the thing that Street weapon did with the ken block cars was a bit scummy. Other than that i think Street Weapon makes some fantastic models with insanely good details for a good price. The thing that Time micro does on the other hand... (remaking models from other brands in way worse quality with pre-order photos that don't show the actual product) ... is way worse.

You're working hard for those corporate bs collecting diecast is about finding a model you've always wanted its not about licensed or unlicensed are you kidding me? Trust an ersatz Jackie Chan to ruin everything

nice video men!!!, In my country there are resellers who sell these brands without a license and they sell them for much more money than it is unlike a licensed brand, but many of those cars that do not have a license sometimes do not arrive within the stipulated delivery time, some take advantage of scamming buyers who are less knowledgeable about buying cars on scale.

I have both of the Street Weapon Ken Block models both are really nice and very detailed inside and out and you're right neither are licensed by Ford and I didn't know this until this video

I'll admit that I bought a Time Micro Nissan Skyline GT-R Z Tune in Millennium Jade. Price was right and it looks good. Then I learned about the licensing and how it really isn't. Preorder won't allow for a refund. So, I like it and I'm definitely stuck with it.
It'll be the only one I ever get. Promise you and everyone else that.

Thanks and glad I don’t collect anymore - my collection is mainly GP and sports racing cars and 1930-1960 (mainly Euro) road cars and most are CMC and Exoto.
