Kenny G and The Band Live At The Ohne Filter (1987 High Quality 60FPS Laserdisc Concert Video)

This is "Kenny G and The Band Live" (PILJ-1119), also known as "Kenny G: Purely Music", featuring Kenny G and his band live at the Ohne Filter. This was recorded just after the release of his album "Duotones" in 1986. As far as I know, this is the earliest concert featuring Kenny G. that received a formal release.

Being that this was recorded close to the release of "Duotones," Kenny G. hadn't yet "jumped the shark" to the dark side of brain-melting mediocre smooth jazz. In fact, at this time, he was more known for his session musician work and for performing as part of the Jeff Lorber Fusion. Yes, it's true; there was a time when Kenny G. was known for funky Jazz-Fusion nipping at the heels of greats like David Sanborn!
