Of course when the astonished pilot said the guy "just took off..." I would think there were some raised eyebrows in the tower. After all, he wasn't in the queue.

No way!! I was the working flight attendant on that flight!! I remember just as we started to accelerate he slammed the brakes and it jerked the airplane. One passenger had a panic attack and wanted to get off.

I would *love* to hear how the pilots explained this to the passengers! "Ladies and gentlemen, that bouncing you're feeling isn't anything wrong with the plane, there's a crazy person jumping up and down on our aircraft..." Seriously! How do you explain that? :)

Lindbergh Field, now San Diego international, runway runs parallel to the Marine Corps Recruit Depot. Many stories of recruits jumping the fence and running across the runways hoping to escape recruit training. Legend had it that a few didn't make it while learning it is difficult to outrun a jet aircraft.

I don't always run out onto the runway and climb on airplanes trying to take off, but when I do, I always take my shirt off.
