Creating and Fitting the Water Tank | Van Build Ep.36

Показать описание

In this episode, Becca and her dad, Nick continue with the van build by adding the external water fill up point (THE LAST EXTERNAL HOLE IN THE VAN!!) and get yet ANOTHER LEAK when they attach the water tank to it. The water tank, which they have to customise and drill into, to create connections for the external fill up point.
More work is done on the Simploo connection, more painting gets done and they finish off a few odd jobs - like adding the headboard and installing the Truma interface.

It's amazing what dad's sacrifice for their daughter's I'd literally sacrifice my life for mine, bless him but a drill is going to far now 😂

Just a heads up, when fitting pipe work gently heat the ends up to soften it then fit and tighten the jubilee clips.also try and make sure no ply edges are touching the pipe as slight movement can damage the pipe. Great team work and l like what you are both doing. I am 40 years boat building and wouldn’t want to see your pipe work fail👍👌

The reason you had your leak is that you are using the wrong type of clamp for that hose.
Corrugated hose needs double wire hose clamps sonthat it fits either side of the raised parts of the hose giving a better seal.

Fantastic build so far and kudos to your dad for sorting the 240v electrics out

Hey Becca 😊 I’ve not seen many builds use single cables vs the std twin core red and black type.
When you mentioned the volt drop issue It got me wondering, what size and type of cable did you install?

You can never tell with wide angle cameras but some look quite skinny plus, if a little fan draws too much power to be an issue I’m worried they might be undersized.

Honestly, just concerned and no way a dig at the build, if followed it from the start 👍🏼

Standard jubilee clips don't work on that type of pipe. Need to use a double wire clip to get a strong seal

You could use a large yoghurt pot or something similar, cut it in half and stick it to the toilet to act as a cover for the extractor fan

The clip on the water pipe!!! You can get one that looks like two wires I think they're good for corrugated pipe. Come on dad that's technical 👍😂🤣😂 looking good.

Why is the toilet fan not on the "dry end" of the pipe?...

With the shaped fresh water tank, how come you didn’t mount it against the side wall over the wheel arch?

Did you paint the base metal where you cut the flap hole

Keep your eye on the water tank filler pipe. It might not leak now but constant driving around might break the silicone seal

Hi Becca, its all coming along nicely, fantastic of Roldo0r to reach out to you, so lovely of them, I have a serious question..when this is all done and complete, how are we going to get our fix of "The Legend Nick"? can you possibly persuade your dad to start his own channel? All the very best to you from Nick in Wolsingham x

I like that green, we use similar on our beach hut and it is good when the dogs shake themselves off. It camouflages the dirt a bit so you don't need to keep cleaning constantly, a quick wipe over after the last walk of the day is all that is needed, .

Good quality build and was very impressed with the cable routing thro the air pipe amazing what you can come up with using common sense and logic :)
