exactly right arm leg spinner is always a useful player in tough time of the team, I played 200+ t20's on Australian pitches. always been trouble for batters. remembering a brilliant match where target was 144 for opposition in 120 balls and they were 91/1 in 6 overs . I bowled 7th over and sent 4 back to pavilion. At the end of the day i bowled 4-0-11-7 and opposition all out for 141.

This is by far the best video for learning leg spin bowling. I have been bowling leg spin for over 10 years now. My question is when I bowl googly, the speed always becomes slower and loop becomes higher. But how to bowl googly flat and fast?

Hello Mr. Chopra,

Thanks for creating this video - it was helpful. I’ve been learning leg spin for quite some time now. Based out of the US, my source has been videos of Shane Warne and I am amazed myself at times as to how big my ball spins with grip and bounce. My concerns are the following:
1. I just don’t seem to bowl 6 balls consistently with the same action/release. 3 balls get bowled simply amazing, 2 balls ordinary and 1 ball (either a full toss or a half tracker) would lead to taking me out of the attack. This makes me try different things and I don’t seem stick to one routine and master it as I don’t seem to know what that routine is. Any tips to be consistent?
2. Consistency issues: My release(s) don’t seem to be the same, my action opens up, I don’t seem to be always bowling on my front foot with pivot, my right arm doesn’t end at the left hip, seem to push the ball rather than spinning it in an arc.
3. Some balls go full toss outside leg and some half trackers.
4. At what part of the action do you increase your bowling arm speed/start the release process? Does it begin when the ball is corked next to the hip? Or you hold the side on action and put the effort when releasing the ball?
7. How important is corking your wrist at the hip and keeping it corked until release?
8. How can I get more body behind the ball?
9. I see that releasing the ball completely side on with the arm at 11’o clock doesn’t impart as much spin (like Anil Kumble) as compared to opening up your action a little bit (Shane Warne). But when you open it, you tend to bowl short. To counter it, I tend to dip my leading shoulder, make sure my left hand touches my knee, pull my ahead and body out, open up a little, then I bowl and pivot - is this right to be consistent?
The only thing that keeps me going are those 50% of the balls that I know are world class!
Please assist. I welcome the idea of a phone call or a chat if you are open to that. My objective here is more to learn something I like, the right way as I know I am almost there. Just need some inputs to get the rest right.
I look forward to hearing from you.
