Some international films do not need an American version. There are many that have failed then succeeded. One of the few American versions I actually liked for example was, "Let The Right One In."
Goodnight Mommy does not need one. I love Naomi Watts but she gave us a great take on The Ring.

i’m actually so mad. it’s giving a big named american brand more credit then the original. the indie foreign uniqueness of the film is what makes this movie so special. not as many Austrian films get this type of attention. it’s taking away from the special quality of this film.

Seems a lot more verbal and less mysterious than the original. The originals not even a decade old yet Hopefully there is some more twists and turns in this remake or there’s no real reason for it to exist

Unfortunately this movie never really relied on the mothers performance until the end but it was the twins that made the movie for me in the original ….and just from the trailer I don’t see the boys being as creepy as the original boys were but we will see I guess

I didn’t know that they were remaking this movie! The original was so twisted and very creepy/shocking. I’ll definitely be watching this version too.

Hollywood is really dry on ideas that they have to remake indie films that aren't even that old. Still, I hope this remake introduces new fans to the original.
