Come with me on my hike today! I hike Potash Mountain in the White Mountains of New Hampshire to help cross another peak off my "52 With a View" list. I also wanted to test out some new gear I got over the holidays as well as practicing my on-trail vlogging skills. Let me know if you like my vlogging style. Comment what you think!

Thanks for sharing and keep it up! I'm sure you already know, but there will always be trolls and those very judgmental of anything you do. Remember that you're hiking for yourself, and not them. Looking forward to your upcoming AT hike!

Impressed with your ability to point out the different mountains. I can't recognize the ones around me yet by sight.

Your photography is SUPERB! Love the little inserts when you mention a past hike or other tidbit. Such good use of the technology. The views up Potash are simply lovely. I do love winter snowshoeing - thanks for taking me along. Again, your hiking partner is SO DARN CUTE!! Thanks so much for sharing.

Nice video! I haven’t lived in nahamsha in years and likely may never do it but the peaks with a view list you’re working on is a good way to get folks off the beaten path to the more popular peaks, which was the original intent of the 4000 footers list I believe. My golden doodle usually ends up with jingle snowballs on her legs when we’re on the trails in the winter. Keep on keeping on!

The camera picture was great -- clear and high quality. Good to hear that the cold-weather clothing test went well! I really respect how well you know the mountains in that area. Clearly, you have hiked a fair few of them. It shows that you really love and respect those mountains, and that will serve you well on the AT.

Are you planning on taking a windbreaker on your thruhike? I have been section hiking for years, and the windbreaker is my most versatile article of clothing. Hiking in rain jackets makes me hot and sweaty, and when I remove the rain jacket, I freeze in cold weather. I've owned various Gore-Tex and other so-called "waterproof-breathable" jackets. If they are completely waterproof, they won't be percecptibly breathable, and pit zips may help cool you, but they can't help you stay dry. A windbreaker weighs 4-6 oz. A coated rain jacket with pit zips usually weighs less than a waterproof-breathable jacket (most of the lightest ones wet out quickly, anyway). There is a slight weight penalty for carrying both, but there is far more flexibility and adaptability than a rain shell only approach. My $.02. Love your dog, btw, what a character!😁 I only have one more 4, 000 footer to do in New England. Stringing together a bunch of them in the 1980s got me started on the way to being an AT and LT section hiker.

If you work in Lincoln, have you met Chet? He is an amazing guy who operates something resembling a hostel. If your store is next to the brewery it's probably 0.3 miles away. He has all the AT stories.

Wow, those are some awesome with the snow and winter sky thrown in! It reminds me a lot of some of the lower mountain areas in Colorado.
