Walking tour exploring the beautiful London Christmas lights. We start at the Tudor Middle Temple Hall with its wonderful display of Christmas trees outside the 16th century hall. We also take in Temple Church then move on to Somerset House Ice Rink, the Strand, Covent Garden, Seven Dials, Charing Cross Road, Leicester Square, Regent Street St James's. Passing through Piccadilly Circus we marvel at the incredible display at Fortnum and Mason on Piccadilly and the beguiling Burlington Arcade and Piccadilly Arcade. The final leg of our Christmas Lights tour takes us along Old Bond Street where Cartier wowed the crowds, New Bond Street with Dior and finally Regent Street, ending appropriately on Oxford Street.

This video is bittersweet for me. I should be landing at LHR today. After visiting London five out of the past six Christmas’, it’s not be so this year. England is a magical place this time of year and I’ll miss it. Next year it shall be. Merry Christmas to all!!!

Going to London to see the lights was a tradition in our family until recently. We used to get the bus from Marble Arch to St Paul's and jump off where something took our interest.

Loved your choice of Dickensian lights versus the new. In keeping with layers of the past

This is making me miss london very badly ! But so lovely, thanks so much. Tbh if I was there I would probably be fed up with the crowds so this is actually really great .

A compilation of shots of Greater London locations which look as though they are taken in the countryside would be good!
Nice one John! PS it was said that the l8 gr8 Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh used to get his socks in The Burlington Arcade, and they were £150 a pair.. 😁🎄✨🌟👍

That was a lovely surprise john . London looks amazing and makes me proud to be english. All the foreign tourists will cherish the spectacle. Your voice is calm, familiar, friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you john this really has been the highlight of my Christmas. Bless you. Tony griffiths

Thanks so much for this lovely presentation of the London that never dies. ( Marred slightly by the lack of any reminder that what we are actually celebrating is the birth of Christ)

I love this video. Every December, just after Christmas, I take the 139 bus from Waterloo Bridge to Abbey Road Studios to see the Christmas lights. It's the best way to see them, unless you want to pay an extortionate amount of money to buy a ticket for the Christmas Lights Tour Bus, which is a cold open top bus by the way. The 139 takes you through the Strand, past Trafalgar Square, through Piccadilly, along Regent Street and along Oxford Street. Abbey Road Studios is also worth checking out this time of year for the tree in its window. I then take the 139 back to Waterloo Bridge and from there, a 172 back to Brockley.

Without a doubt, for me, Temple was the best. It invoked a real Christmas atmosphere and - no crowds!
