Hi teacher, I am a student from Brazil and I love your explanation about the use of 'Having + Past Participle'. Well, I was doing my homework and a question was apresented: "complete the second
sentence so that it has a similar meaning to the first sentence, using the word given. Do not change the word given. You must use between three and eight words, including the word given."

- Although they tried to dissuade Josh from continuing with it, he has opted for physics as a career.

Use the word: 'advised'

'Despite Josh has chosen a career in it'

As a result:
'Despite HAVING BEEN ADVISED against physics, Josh has chosen a carrer in it.'

Well, as Josh was warned about course of physics, the action (say the warn) is already completed, so it is possible the use of HAVING + PAST PARTICIPLE. A detail: the use of 'BEEN' is because the passive voice.

Well, I did the activity after your explanation :)
Thank you and congratulations about your excellent channel. I love it.
