What is Oracle Database 12c Real Application Security (RAS) (Part 1 of 2)

It is designed to provide application authorization and data security (VPD) regardless of the access method. i.e. APEX, Java, PHP, Perl, .NET, direct DB etc.

In this tutorial, learn why RAS is the "new VPD" and how it can integrate with APEX for authentication and authorization, working with whatever security mechanisms you have in place already: SSO, LDAP, or custom schemes - no problem. It has Data Redaction functionality too. We'll demonstrate what it can do and how to configure it. We'll also include a brief demonstration of using RAS to control access in an Oracle APEX application.
