Cold Steel SRK Fixed Blade Survival Knife Overview

Показать описание

The SRK (Survival Rescue Knife) from Cold Steel is a versatile knife that is able to withstand the most extreme abuse. This model has an upgraded CPM-3V steel blade with a black DLC finish. It features a tremendously strong clip point that’s fine enough for delicate work, yet possesses enough belly for efficient cutting, slashing and skinning strokes as well. At 3/16 of an inch thick, the Survival Rescue Knife offers the sturdiest possible point and edge configuration, without sacrificing sharpness. The SRK’s handle sports a single quillion finger guard and a deeply checkered Kraton grip. Includes a Secure-Ex sheath.

I really wish they didn't discontinue the San Mai iii version. I like the whole San Mai idea a lot.

I’ve heard it referred to as the Search & Rescue Knife.

To me this is the most boring looking knife I've ever seen, but I've been looking for a budget friendly camp knife and the reviews on the SRK-C and SRK are so good, especially for the price, that I just had to get it anyway. I've barely gotten to use it but just the feel of it is amazing in the hand and it feels like great quality. The practicality overrides the look imo.

Search and rescue knife. Was designed as this. Imagine rescuing someone, hostage ect: this knife will not scare the shit out of them when pulled out, unlike a peace keeper or a oss. But i suppose if you say it's a survival knife you will sell more to batoning knife beaters!

During the 2 tours to Iraq my dad carried an ark on his vest at all time luckily never got close enough to an enemy to use it on someone

I have a Carbon V U.S. made SRK. It is a great knife, in particular I love its shape and size. If I were getting a new one, I'd skip the cheap one, but I would be torn between the Japanese made San Mai III version or the Taiwanese made CPM-3V version.

These are the Model knives issued to the Navy Seals after they complete School, & some of the Army's Special forces also use this knife. How is that for a great Ad,

Saber cheeks with a hollow grind too. Looks like to me. The V ones are great. Save up to get a falkn. They are not tactical just practical.

Vg1 is not the budget option. That would be the sk5 srk

No, the premium SRK was the Carbon V, USA made blade from Camillus.

How is the tip on the 3v version as opposed to the SRK in VG-1? My VG-1 tip is kinda.. "dainty", so a beefier tip would definitely appeal to me.

is the 3v version saber or hollow grind ?

Its not a full tang. Its a hidden tang. Substantial tang, but hidden within the handle.
Full tang has the handle edges exposed all around the handle.

The Japanese SRK is better, but they're all ugly as sin. I do love the CPM-3V, but would prefer it be made stateside.
