Now that we are familiar with solving second-order homogeneous recurrence relations, we extend our methods to higher-order homogeneous recurrence relations. You will find the methodology to be the same as in the last video. However, if you are out of practice on either solving polynomials of degree 3 or greater or solving systems of 3 or more equations, you may need to spend some time on the additional videos I've linked below (or other videos you may find on the subject).
** You MUST watch video 8.2.2 before watching this video in order for this video to make sense! ***
Supplemental Videos:
Video Chapters:
Intro 0:00
Reminder of the Process 0:11
Write The Characteristic Polynomial and Factor Using Synthetic Division 1:28
Solving for the Coefficients Using Matrices 8:55
Up Next 18:05
This playlist uses Discrete Mathematics and Its Applications, Rosen 8e
