ok, this must be the second "lightning strike" for me in just a few months!! I haven't really found new artists for the last 5-7 years (I'm 42) having small kids, new job etc but having noticed that the woman who covered my house God Tom Waits' Take it With Me on "Come up the the House - Women Sing Waits" was doing that song extremely well and also had a voice and guitar skills I was floored by her, Angie Mcmahon, and the rest of her material.

The last time that happened was just after my dad had passed away in 2009 and I found one of his favorites, Willy Deville and spend so many crying not been at concerts or at least a few late night listenings together with him before he was gone, he was just 59 so my 29 year old didn't realize how quickly chances of closeness can slip away.. And then, now in 2022, via some Spotify algorithm, I found this song and again, my ears did hear something very special. Soo, looking forward to explore the discography and other materials by Gordy, I'm not sure this is a swedish-australian kind of connection here or if my other female house gods (Ani DiFranco, Emmylou Harris, Anna von Hausswolff) have something to do with it. Doesn't matter, I'm just so happy I'm on a roll, finding new artists again!! 🤘🏽🎸🎼🎶🎛️🪕🎺🎷🎻🪘🪗🔥
