Journey from darkness to light, from death to life, as we bear witness to the Paschal Mystery through powerful music, the retelling of the salvation story and welcoming new believers in Baptism. The service culminates in a glorious celebration of the Holy Eucharist, proclaiming the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Incense is used at this service. All are welcome to bring bells. This is the only service of the day.

Presider: The Right Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde
Preacher: The Very Rev. Randolph Marshall Hollerith

Without question one of the most compelling and meaningful services I have experienced. Beautiful.

Watching this, I give thanks to God that it was in my lifetime that the Episcopal Church moved away from its protestant roots and returned to and restored the worship of its catholic heritage. It was only with Services for Trial use in 1970 culminating in the 1979 Book of Common Prayer that the Holy Week Service became "legal" in the church. I give thanks to God that the Anglo-catholics in the church prevailed in the Prayer Book Revision of the 1950's through the 1970's.

Got turned off watching the hearing impared box taking up a large portion of the screen while there was closed captions available if one chose to click the cc. I think the hearing impared viewers are certainly capable of reading closed captions, and the annoying box is unnecessary. This is NOT a new complaint by viewers, by the way.

That little joy "act" which the Bishop "performed" for the Easter Acclamation was absolutely ridiculous. It seemed more about comedy, or even mockery, instead of legitimate exultation. Between that and feeling like I was in a jazz night club, I stopped watching.
