As good as the idea is, they would still need to change the fundamental code that makes them go the max speed. The reason they added, the game rule was because minecarts were artificially capped. meaning they would need to be allowed to go faster. Powered rails aren’t the only source of speed. Height can give speed to. They would need to make minecarts physically able to go faster to make this work, but that would break farms.

Calibrated power rails would be so usefull for projectile courses especially for races giving you a real advantage/disadvantage

For chests and hopper carts you click on them and use the arrow keys to set their max speed. And for minecarts and tnt minecarts you use the arrow keys as a speedometer but also you can upgrade it with ores in a smithing table to allow you to go faster, with powered rails acting as a booster if your in a normal minecart.

Or because it's copper, why not let oxidation impact the speed. You could wax it to keep it at a faster speed or let it become more oxidized for a slower pace.

Had a similar Idea but I call it the booster rail.

This rail would be one direction and it could slow down or speed up a cart depending on the direction and power level.

Also powered rails should make sped up minecarts retain speed

That idea is actually really good, not only it fixes minecart problem it also makes good use for minecart and copper.

People should stop complaining about new features breaking their farms. Most people never need the insane amounts of materials that the high efficiency farms give you.

They already broke the minecarts code. I used minecarts for my sorting system for my gold farm and they had a chance to just fly off the rails because of the changes made to their code. Also you can't stack minecarts anymore.
