Norse - Official Announcement Trailer

Developer Arctic Hazard has announced Norse, an upcoming turn-based tactics game set in Norway in the age of Vikings. It promises an "historically authentic" world where you embark on a quest for vengeance while building settlements, managing communities, forging alliances, and fighting tactical battles. Norse is in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

What makes this game even better is that the story was written by my favorite Viking fiction author named Giles Kristian. This looks incredibly historically accurate, and even better than AC Valhalla.

While much of it does look great, and in the same vein as The Northman, there are still some inconsistencies and false TV show designs. One major example being the shaved head with braid ponytail and tattoos. Other than that, this looks far better than most other popular media.

An XCOM turn-based game set in one of my favorite time periods, with settlement management/building, alliances AND a solid story (potentially) to back it?

Assassins Creed: Valhalla was one of my favorite times with a game, not necessarily because of the execution of the game, but the concept. Forging alliances, building up your community and feeling that rush as you storm castle gates awaiting Valhalla.
XCOM 2 was also one of my favorite times with a game.
Love those games. Hopefully this is the best of both worlds! Looking forward to it!

Apart from some hairstyles and facial tattoos, , this might be the most accurate depiction of Norse material culture I've seen in a video game. Compare this to to AC: Valhalla and the difference is mad! Animations looks nice too. I'm excited for sure
