So glad I don't have a 🚗 payment. I put an additional $550💵 a month towards my retirement.

"Thanksgiving dinner doesn't taste the same when your eating with your master" wise words from my guy Dave

Why on earth do you call Dave Ramsey, talk over his questions, and not be able to tell him what your debts are? You can't call in with a question about one area and expect him to ignore the other $100k of debt.

Carmax is a RIP OFF! Never "turn a car in" to carmax.

I was in a similar predicament. Paid off the 8k negative equity on my Benz in cash and bought an old Acura. No car payment, cheap insurance and if it breaks I can probably fix it with the cash I have in my pocket. It was an expensive lesson but I'm not even bothered by it. Live and learn...

That whole “he pays this and I pay this” thing from married couples makes me crazy. Your both in this marriage together.

Did you know that more than 50% of Americans make less than $30, 000 a year? This person makes 6 figures and can't even responsibly handle their expenses. Tells a lot of where this country is heading.

I become weary listening to callers that "don't know" who they owe or just flat out dont want to tell the truth. I know....from personal experience....nothing will improve until I can tell myself the truth!! Future callers; please dont bother until you are willing to answer the questions we ALL know Dave will ask. Thanks for letting me rant.

I am always shocked by how many people are buying these $34, 000 dollar cars and seem to be going upside down right away. I mean, there are so many good used cars out there for less than 15k. I honestly don’t get it. I get people want new cars, but unless you are extremely financially stable, I think buying a new car is crazy risky. Buying an already depreciated used car seems like a no brainer.

I owed 26 k on a 2 seat car about to deliver a baby the next month . I sold it to car max, they paid 18 and I the remaining 8, unfortunately I DID barrow from older siblings but I’m glad I got out of it . Also paid siblings back and now I’m debt free with a baby . This time around I won’t be making stupid mistakes. Fresh start for us

Every time I hear how much people owe on their vehicles being upside down on the loan, I am glad I got my '98 Buick Regal, paid for, every Friday takes me to the bank to make a deposit in my savings account.

She's gonna do what she wanted to do anyway, she wasn't listening to his advice.

People should be careful out there, my family member bought a clean titled truck. A few months later we discovered the frame was damaged and it had been wrecked and should have a salvage title. It was a mistake buying it, get anything you want to buy inspected and tested.

Great advice from Dave, but you can tell in his voice that he doesn't think she's going to follow it.

We paid off our 2010 Fusion last year, my husband put alot of miles on it for work (200k to be exact) and it's almost given up the ghost. On the lookout for a "new" car for cash, paying only $1500. No more payments!

That's a lot of money to owe. Honestly, there are good used cars for under $5, 000.
