Misertus (UK) — Punctual — 2021 full length

The fifth album of this solo English project.

While my heart's fuel is black metal, there is something totally captivating in blending other sonorities into it, it keeps some of its essence but adapts into something less constrained, beautiful or ugly or even bad of course if done poorly.
This is the situation where it becomes something great(er?).

This artist kept more or less in the same path, playing between the metal aggressiveness and softer textures from synths, rock-like transitions or clean singing.
Instrument wise this is completely spotless.
The songwriting is also quite good, with amazing transitions and the work done over various layers often give off an orchestral ambience.
The work on vocals is amazing by itself, specially the dual voicing parts clean / shriek duality as this album is also a constant battle between gleam and obscurity.
