— Chapter 02: Importing —

Lesson 2.08 — If you photograph with your camera set to “Raw+JPEG” and output both a Raw and JPEG file for each image, Lightroom has a setting that you may be interested in. With it, you can either keep these files together (so they are treated as one Raw file), or you can choose to separate them so that they appear individually.

Thank you for such a clear and concise explanation. I'm not sure why after many years of using LR, I just now had my files import as RAW+JPEG, but it stumped me until I found your video. One of the best for getting to the point and stating it clearly and elequently.

Thanks, This is amazing since I shoot with my Fuji recipes and sometimes I cannot recreate the baked in look from jpgs. What a time saver!

I'm glad there is an option because I've been uploading directly from my camera and it's not showing me any JPEGs just the raw files. 700 photos later and next time I will know to check this setting.

Thanks for this. When you capture the raw and jpeg images do you set your camera to put the two files and the same card, or do you put the two files on separate cards?

Great ideas. I usually use RAW on one card and JPEG on the other in my Canon R5/R6 "just in case" I want to use the JPEGs in stacking in ZERENESTACKER (it only does JPEG or TIFF, not RAW), or I am just lazy and don't want to do the processing I usually do for RAW.

My LR is not seeing the jpegs that are in the same folder at the raw files?
