The characters feel more real in this game than almost any other game

There's SO MANY instances of people acting in their last moments in this game. This game is so well done and thats why its one of my favorite games of all time.

The blink-and-you-miss-it dialog that you can have when they leave the barn, before they head into the farmhouse, hits even harder. Romani says something like “See you tomorrow!” All happy (and possibly buzzed) and Cremia simply tells you “See you…tomorrow…”. She knows its not coming and after saving the farm, she knows you know, but shes determined to make sure Romani doesnt know.

And Nintendo had the audacity to say TOTK was gonna be darker than majoras mask. They got my hopes up. Scary moments dont mean dark. The lighting of the depths isnt what we thought you meant Nintendo...

Even later when the sisters say goodbye to you, the older one also says "...see you... tomorrow" or something similar...

This scene still gets to me to this day. Even worse, Cremia asks you about what they're saying in Clock Town about the Moon as you ride along for her milk delivery, which indicated to me that Cremia's had this on her mind for a bit now. It makes me wonder if she offered any Chateau to Grog and Mamamu Yan

This scene messed me up. Majora’s Mask feels so real sometimes.😔

It's dozens of moments like this, full of implications of impending doom, characters that seem legitimately scared and reacting in different ways, often in some stage of grief, that made Majora's Mask my favorite Zelda game.

This IS the greatest game of all time. No question about it.
1. The incredibly deep and unusual setting: a magical world within a magical world tormented by a creepy mask. This setting brings a uniqueness that is notable even 23 years after its release, as there is no other game in the series like it
2. The way it represents its characters is so deeply layered because of every character's reaction to the coming apocalypse
3. It doesn't overstay its welcome, with only about 18 hours of gameplay

Romani must have had a hell of a hangover the morning after.

This game was a masterpiece because there were no "NPCs". Every character has complexity, interaction had depth, meaning, and kept you invested. It never shied away from delving into tragedy and human struggle. Out of any Zelda game, this somber and episodic themes gave a very real sense of responsibility and weight to every interaction. The player wasn't just going through the motions, no this brought a dark realism to an otherwise hero fantasy series that made you actually want to save these people and stop the pending hopeless despair, suffering, and fear looming over the land.

I canNOT be the only one who was stressed out the first time doing the Alien and carriage quest. Who else??

It’s crazy how many times this game can hit you in the feels

According to the Japanese version of the game, Chateau Romani is milk mixed with wine. In real life, this would be disgusting because the acid and tannins in wine make the milk curdle.

This one is actually breaking my heart. I remember playing this game at the age of 8, and while not fully comprehend the story(my english wasn't that good at the time), nor grasping their feeling - replaying the game years later really moved me. Living up childhood nostalgia and reliving things like... this. It's like doing everything a dog loves to do, giving it the best treats and whatnot - before its being put down for being too ill. God, this game is so dark.. and I love it <3 <3 <3

The way each character actually reacts (even if by a simple textbox) to their impending doom is one of the hallmarks of Majora's Mask. 10/10 storytelling

The realization of what's going on with these two in the last day hits you like a punch to the gut. The way Cremia knows the world is ending and just wants her little sister's last moments to be happy and peaceful, it make you sadder the more you think about it
I can even imagine Cremia's last words as she and Romani are going to sleep being "good night" and "I love you"

The entire game is full of moments like that, the people realize that the moon will crash into Termina so they panic or do something they normally wouldn’t, I mean if you were living in a town that you knew would be destroyed soon would you just spend your day how you always do or would you do something that youve always wanted to do but never made the time to do

The moment you realize just how dark this was, Firstly, Big Sis knows their world is likely ending, Gets her little sister drunk as to possibly not feel anything, Asking her to sleep with her that night so as to spend there final moments all while Romani remains oblivious and the reason why she ask "Until now"
