Honestly, I thought the series was interesting. As an Psych major, its pretty cool that they were able to twist Freud a bit. I understand that people are upset because it isn't historically accurate but am I really going to EXPECT that from a company that only cares about catching the viewer's eye? Lol, no.
If you are interested in Freud's work, please do your research properly because from this series you'll probably only get a small idea of ID, Ego and Super Ego. But I have to agree, this series contains a lot of symbolism to it. I cannot really complain about it? I guess long story short: Freud in the Penny Dreadful Universe (Fleur did remind me of Ms. Ives a bit)

The first episode already aired on Austrian television yesterday.
Yes, it reminds you of "The Alienist" in a lot of aspects, yet it is much more atmospherical and includes weird dreams and visions.
Also the setting is much more beautiful. I really enjoyed it and look forward to the next episodes.

Everybody hating on this just becuz it's not a biography, no valid criticism whatsoever ! They made Abraham Lincoln a vampire Slayer, so what's wrong with making Freud a detective/exorcist ? It's just fiction get over it
